OUR STORY
In 2015, a group of determined police officers from the New York Police Department established the Pakistani American Law Enforcement Society (PALS) to promote unity among all Pakistani law enforcement professionals in the United States. Today, PALS stands as the largest national nonprofit fraternal organization representing such officers.
In 2021, when devastating floods struck Pakistan, leaving millions of people homeless and in dire need of assistance, PALS officers from the New York and Houston Police Departments stepped forward and traveled to Pakistan as part of a humanitarian mission to help the affected people. Their unwavering efforts improved the lives of thousands of underprivileged people throughout the country. This reinforced the need for PALS to expand their reach and continue their path of excellence.
To carry on the legacy of helping others and changing lives, PALS founded its first chapter in Houston, led by Assistant Chief Yasar Bashir of the Houston Police Department. The board members of PALS-Houston project confidence and reflect the diverse and welcoming culture of the city with their strong leadership traits.
